St Germain Spritz

St Germain Spritz

Although St-Germain didn’t make the cut for my 11 Essential Bottles list, it was a very close 12th. With a sweetness level close to a syrup, St Germain can replace most sweeteners in recipes and won’t dilute alcohol content. I just cannot recommend St Germain’s fresh, floral flavors enough.

While I fully stand behind the spritz 3:2:1 ratio (sparkling wine : liqueur : club soda), St-Germain is just too sweet to stay light and balanced in that ratio. I finally settled on 3:1:1 after a few experiments, but this is still on the sweeter end.

The Elements

  • 1oz St-Germain

  • 3oz Dry sparkling wine (I use dry Prosecco)

  • 1oz Club soda

The How To

  1. Add ice to a collins or wine glass.

  2. Add ingredients directly to glass.

  3. Stir until chilled and combined.

  4. Plunge a lime wheel into the glass for garnish.

Enjoy!
